The idea for SlideGlass® arose from a genuine customer need.
For a penthouse apartment, the goal was to find a solution that would provide more protection from the wind without permanently altering the open character of the terrace.
Fixed structures were only a limited option in this case. Therefore, the goal was to find a flexible solution that would provide protection when needed while also blending harmoniously into the architecture.
Since existing systems didn’t fully meet our expectations, we began developing various ideas and prototypes on our own.
It was particularly important to us to find a durable and practical solution:
A system that not only functions as a windscreen but can also be used as a certified railing. In addition, the system should be flexible enough to be adapted—for example, by allowing a railing to be installed initially without a movable windscreen and then expanded later.
Step by step, this project gave rise to SlideGlass®.
